chronological day 271 :)

Today, we are reading John 3, John 4:1-45, Luke 3:19-20.  Check it out and come on back!

I like reading the New Testament in a translation I’m not used to – makes it hard to “skim” in the familiar passages! Look at how the MSG translates John 3:

“There was a man of the Pharisee sect, Nicodemus, a prominent leader among the Jews. Late one night he visited Jesus and said, ‘Rabbi, we all know you’re a teacher straight from God. No one could do all the God-pointing, God-revealing acts you do if God weren’t in on it.’

Jesus said, ‘You’re absolutely right. Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.’ ” John 3:1-3 MSG

Jesus always pointed back to the Father, always reflected the Father’s goodness. We ought to do the same!

  1. Ralph Madrigal says:

Reading John just puts a word of peace in me. As I read daily and let me remind you I am new to alot of the Bible there are moments that I say how can anyone not believe after witnessing such miracles. What would it take? Easy to answer because I believe in Jesus. But others still walk this earth without knowing him. Mrs. Jennifer hit the nail on the head when she said we all ought to point to Jesus so others can see him. Amen! I want to read more but will stay patient and meditate more on today’s reading.
