Continuing in the Psalms! Here we go – please read: Psalm 144, 145, 88, and 89.
“I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King!
and I’ll bless Your name into eternity.
I’ll bless You every day,
and keep it up from now to eternity.
God is magnificent; He can never be praised enough.
There are no boundaries to His greatness.
Generation after generation stands in awe of Your work;
each one tells stories of Your mighty acts” (Psalm 145:1-4 MSG)
It’s funny – after spending so much time with David, you can hear the difference between a David psalm and another psalm, can’t you? We certainly know David’s voice by now! I love the thought that God knows my voice – and more importantly, that He lets me know His!
The words I read in the psalms daily are becoming familiar to me. Yes I can hear the pain, yes I can start to feel the anguish and the plead to be protected so David’s enemies are not conquering his thoughts. I can hear/see in my mind where he is bent over in dispair asking for one more day of protection. Then I keep reading and he thanks the Lord for letting him survive and crushing his enemies. I sometimes wonder if I would have the skill of poetry that David does in describing a weeks worth of my feelings. He puts the words together so beautifully even in his darker moments. Thank you Lord for keeping me faithful when I sometimes forget how much I have in front of me. The love of my family and the strength of my friends…….
