chronological day 73 :)

Please read Deuteronomy 6, 7, 8, and 9. Get your highlighters out-  you might want to highlight these blessings!  (I like to use a colored pencil or crayon, so the ink doesn’t bleed through my Bible pages!)

So many blessings and encouragements to stay obedient to the Lord! God will continue to increase His people, but don’t forget that all blessings and gifts come from Him. He is so good to us!

“Listen obediently, Israel. Do what you’re told so that you’ll have a good life” (6:3)

“Love God, your God, with your whole heart” (6:5)

“Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children” (6:6)

“Deeply respect God, your God. Serve and worship him exclusively” (6:13)

There are lots more!  The blessings of obedience are many.

“It will be a set-right and put-together life for us if we make sure that we do this entire commandment in the Presence of God, our God, just as He commanded us to do.” (6:25)

“And this is what will happen: When you, on your part, will obey these directives, keeping and following them, God, on his part, will keep the covenant of loyal love that he made with your ancestors: He will love you, He will bless you, He will increase you. (7:12-13 MSG)

Amen and amen ❤

Wow, today I got man points out of the reading. First, chapter 6 verses 11&12 tells me when things are going good our needs are met we tend to forget about how all this happened. I used to keep God on a shelf in a glass case that said” in case of emergency, break glass,” not too far from the genie in the bottle kind of thing. But I realize now how wrong I was, even before I read this verse again. In chapter 7 verse 10 tells me slot about the world we currently live in. Look at all the Christian bashing that goes on around the world. Makes you wonder when enough will be enough??? Chapter 7 verse 15 almost sounds like back in the Garden when all was perfect. Is this the reason we have sickness today is because we don’t follow the commandments? Chapter 7 verse 26, makes me wonder about all the electronics we now have in our lives. How many times have you passed a car with multiple occupants in the vehicle and all, hopefully, but the driver is on a devise??? Anything that takes time away from God could be viewed as a abomination, or that we worship these devices because we can not go anywhere or do anything without having them or thinking about them… I could go on and on about all I got out of today’s readings but will give someone else a chance….

Deuteronomy 6:18 “Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors”.
Deuteronomy 7:6 “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession”. Deuteronomy 9 is a review of the stubbornness that we have become when left alone. We are reminded from the Lord that our promised land can be detoured if we become arrogant. Moses rehashes his moments in the mountain where he recounts not eating for 40 days and 40 nights. He held tough until receiving the tablets from GOD.
Today’s takeaway: Obedience takes charge. We can have Faith our Lord will guide us through hard times and provide the land promised to us… we sit by and have it come to us? I used to think so and it never did. Today I work hard at being a part of society and a Christian. Merging the two is tough when you fight letting go of the past. Thank you Lord for loving me even though I fought back.
