Please read Numbers 34, 35 and 36. What is the Lord speaking to you through His Word this morning? I’d love to hear your thoughts too! Here’s what I am thinking about:
God spoke to Moses: “Command the People of Israel. Tell them, When you enter Canaan, these are the borders of the land you are getting as an inheritance” (34:1-2 MSG)
Moses is dividing up the land, the inheritance that he will not receive. Again, I am struck by the fact that Moses continues in faithfulness, caring for the people and fulfilling his purpose. He won’t enter the promised land, but his relationship with God and with the children of Israel continues. (It’s not anyone else’s fault that he struck the rock instead of speaking to it – but I’m sure you’ve seen people misplace their discontent or misplace blame before. Moses doesn’t do any of that).
“Don’t desecrate the land in which you live. I live here, too—I, God, live in the same neighborhood with the People of Israel.” (35:34 MSG)
God said not to desecrate the place where they live because He lives there too. I like how the Message translates it “I live in the same neighborhood”. Sweet reminder for us today – wherever we are, God is as well. He is always with us ❤
And that’s the end of Numbers – we’re finished another book!
