Good morning! Please read Numbers 27, 28 and 29. Come back and let’s talk! Here’s what I am thinking about today – what are your thoughts?
We’re are introduced to Joshua today – an important figure for sure! Let’s put a bookmark here and visit about it later, but it’s important to note that Moses is making an investment into the next generation leader.
God said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun—the Spirit is in him!—and place your hand on him. Stand him before Eleazar the priest in front of the entire congregation and commission him with everyone watching. Pass your magisterial authority over to him so that the whole congregation of the People of Israel will listen obediently to him. (27:18-19 MSG)
Another thing that stands out to me today is the emphasis on the health of the animal being used as an offering: over and over we are told, they must be healthy. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, the once and for all offering of His Blood, I don’t have to be perfect to come to God. I can come when I am broken and know that He will help. I can come when I am sick or hurt and know He will heal. I can come if I lack anything and know that He will provide. Oh the precious love of God! Thank You Jesus for Your sacrifice!
“Conclude the seventh day in holy worship; don’t do any regular work on that day” (28:25 MSG)
