chronological day 50 :)

Please read Leviticus chapters 9, 10 and 11 this morning. I keep referencing morning because that’s when I like to get into the Bible, but that doesn’t make it the best time or even the correct time (just the best time for me!).  What’s the best time for you?  Come on back – here’s what I am thinking today:

In these chapters, holiness is definitely a theme.

“Distinguish between the holy and the common” (10:10 MSG)

“Make yourselves holy for I am holy” (11:44 MSG)

“you have to distinguish between the unclean and the clean” (11:47 MSG)

Whoever you are, that’ll preach!

  1. David says:

Wow!!! After reading today’s verses I realize I am not smart enough to have lived under Old Testament law. It was no wonder they had as many priests in the temples, they had to police their parishioners. This is yet another benefit of Calvary, to remove us from all these many, many laws. How many of us could follows these? I know we are in a different culture now but those poor guys were under a constant watch, just waiting until one of them stepped out of line. The more I learn, the more what really happened there at Calvary..

  2. Ralph Madrigal says:

Leviticus 9:24, Fire blazed forth from the Lord’s presence and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar, when the people saw this they shouted with joy and fell face down on the ground.
Leviticus 10:2, So Fire blazed forth from the Lord’s presence and burned them (Nadab & Abihu) up and they died there before the Lord.
We just witnessed two versions of the Lord’s presence in Blazing Fire where one was good and the other terrifying. Aaron’s sons for what ever reason did not abide by the insence offering instructions and displeased the Lord resulting in death.
Today’s takeaway: We cannot do things our way and expect for it to be without consequences. Our actions speak loud for everyone to hear. Lord, I pray to you today, keep me humble and let me present my inadequacies so I can come closer to you, I pray for guidance from my CR Mentor and Church Pastors Jennifer and Michael Spivey. I pray you watch over them and bless them. In your sons name I pray. Amen.
